Analytics: How to Filter Your Dashboard Using a Number Filter

Overview

Number Filters allow you to refine dashboard data based on numeric values.
You can define conditions like greater than, less than, equal to, or within a range to precisely control which data appears in your dashboard.

This is useful when you want to:

  • Focus on high or low-performing records

  • Set thresholds (e.g., revenue above a certain amount)

  • Analyze trends by filtering outliers or small values

Number Filters provide flexible comparison options and help you surface meaningful patterns by quantifying data.

What are Filters in the Dashboard?

Filters in the Dashboard allow you to control which data is included or excluded in your visuals.

There are three main types of filters you can apply:

  1. Attribute Filters – for text-based fields

  2. Number Filters – for numeric fields

  3. Time Filters – for date and datetime fields

Each filter type is designed for a specific kind of data and offers different configuration options.

You can use filters to:

  • Include or exclude specific text values (e.g. City, Province, Status)

  • Apply numeric conditions (e.g. Amount greater than a value)

  • Filter data by time ranges (e.g. Date Inserted within a specific period)

Filters can be combined together using AND logic, meaning all applied conditions must be met for data to appear in the dashboard.

How to Add a Number Filter?

Step 1: Open Dashboard Filters

  1. Go to Dashboard Library.

  2. Open an existing Dashboard.

  3. Click the Filter icon at the top of the dashboard to open the Dashboard Filters overlay.

Step 2: Add a New Filter

  1. Click Add Filter.

Step 3: Select a Number Attribute

  1. Under the Row tab, scroll down to the Number section.

  2. Select a numeric attribute, for example: Campaign ID, Worker ID, Amount, etc.

Step 4: Select a Number Operator

  1. Under the Range tab, select an Operator:

    • Between

    • Not Between

    • Equal

    • Not Equal

    • Greater Than

    • Greater Than or Equal

    • Less Than

    • Less Than or Equal

    • Include

    • Exclude

Step 5: Enter the Number Range or Value

  1. Depending on the selected operator:

    • Between / Not Between: Choose the Value Input Type and enter values in both From and To fields.

      • Numeric – enter a fixed numeric value.

      • Variables – use a variable instead of a fixed number.

    • Greater Than / Less Than / Equal / Not Equal: Enter a value in the Value field only.

    • Include / Exclude – Select one or more values to include or exclude from the list.

  2. The Min and Max values are displayed for reference, if available.

Step 6: Use Keyset Instead of Range

  1. Click the Keyset tab.

  2. Use the search bar to find available key values.

Step 7: Save the Filter

  1. Click Continue to save filters.

  2. The Number filter will now be applied to the dashboard and reflected in all visuals.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Use Number filters for thresholds such as revenue or counts.

  • Avoid setting overly restrictive ranges unless intentionally narrowing the dataset.

  • Combine Number Filters with Attribute Filters to analyze numeric performance within specific categories.

  • Remember that all filters use AND logic, so removing unnecessary filters can help avoid unintentionally excluding data.
