Overview
Attribute Filters allow you to narrow down dashboard data based on text or categorical values.
By applying an Attribute Filter, you can include or exclude specific values to focus on the exact records you want to analyze.
This is useful when you want to:
View data for specific campaigns, owners, or statuses
Compare performance across different categories
Exclude irrelevant or unwanted records from your dashboard
Attribute Filters work on string-based fields and update your dashboard visuals instantly, making it easy to explore and refine insights without changing the underlying data source.
What are Filters in the Dashboard?
Filters in the Dashboard allow you to control which data is included or excluded in your visuals.
There are three main types of filters you can apply:
Attribute Filters – for text-based fields
Number Filters – for numeric fields
Time Filters – for date and datetime fields
Each filter type is designed for a specific kind of data and offers different configuration options.
You can use filters to:
Include or exclude specific text values (e.g. City, Province, Status)
Apply numeric conditions (e.g. Amount greater than a value)
Filter data by time ranges (e.g. Date Inserted within a specific period)
Filters can be combined together using AND logic, meaning all applied conditions must be met for data to appear in the dashboard.
How to Add an Attribute Filter?
Step 1: Open Dashboard Filters
Go to Dashboard Library.
Open an existing Dashboard.
Click the Filter icon at the top of the dashboard to open the Dashboard Filters overlay.
Step 2: Add a New Filter
Click Add Filter.
Step 3: Select an Attribute
Under the Row tab, browse or search for an Attribute (e.g. Address City, Address Province).
Click the Attribute you want to filter on.
Step 4: Choose Filter Values on Value Tab
Under the Value tab, select an Operator:
Include – only include selected values
Exclude – exclude selected values
Select one or more values from the list (e.g. Toronto, California).
This filter will apply to only the selected values.
Step 5: Use Wildcard Matching on Wildcard Tab
Switch to the Wildcard tab.
Choose an operator (e.g. Contains).
Enter a text value (e.g.
tor).(Optional) Toggle Case Sensitive if needed.
This allows partial text matching instead of exact values.
Step 6: Use Keyset Filters on Keyset Tab
Switch to the Keyset tab.
Click Upload Keyset Values to upload a list of values.
Use the search bar to validate uploaded keys.
This is useful when filtering with a large predefined list of values.
Step 7: Save the Filter
Click Continue to apply the Attribute filter to the dashboard.
Tips & Best Practices
Use Attribute filters for categorical data and Wildcard for partial matches.
Use the Include / Exclude option carefully to avoid unintentionally hiding relevant records.
Review applied filters regularly to ensure your dashboard results match your analysis intent.
Remember that all filters use AND logic, so removing unnecessary filters can help prevent unintentional data exclusion.
