Approvals: How to Turn On/Off Approvals for a Pipeline

Overview

This guide will walk you through how to turn on or off Approvals for a specific Pipeline in Wingmate.
Turning Approvals ON allows your team to require manager approval when certain Lead or Purchase fields are changed. When Approvals are turned OFF, the system will not enforce any Approval Conditions and the Approvals tab in the Notification Center will be hidden.

 


What are Approval Conditions?

Approval Conditions is an Admin Console feature under Easydocs → Approval Conditions. It allows administrators to define rules that trigger a manager approval workflow before an EasyDoc (or other document) can be generated or finalized. Each condition specifies:

  • Type: Lead or Purchase (which object the rule applies to)

  • Field: The specific field to monitor

  • Comparator: The comparison operation used to evaluate the field (e.g., less than, equal, or change)

  • Value: A comparison value when required (Optionally: Compare to the minimum price from a price sheet instead of a literal value)

  • Enabled state: Toggle each condition on/off

Admins can add multiple conditions and delete or edit them at any time.

 


How to Turn ON Approvals for a Pipeline?

 

Step 1: Open Pipeline Settings

  1. Go to Admin Console.

  2. Click Customize Pipelines and Fields.

  3. You will be redirected to the Pipeline Settings page.

 

Step 2: Enable Approvals in General Settings

  1. On the left panel, under General Settings, find the section Custom Field Approvals.

  2. Check the box Show Approvals in the UI.

  3. A success notification will appear once the update is completed.

 

Step 3: Confirm That Approvals Are Enabled

  1. Once the checkbox is turned ON:

    • The Approvals tab will appear in the Notification Center.

    • You will be able to configure approval rules from
      Admin Console → EasyDocs → Approval Conditions.

    • Any configured Approval Conditions will apply to this pipeline.

How to Turn OFF Approvals for a Pipeline?

 

Step 1: Open Pipeline Settings

  1. Go to Admin Console.

  2. Click Customize Pipelines and Fields.

  3. You will be redirected to the Pipeline Settings page.

 

Step 2: Disable Approvals in General Settings

  1. On the left panel, under General Settings, locate Custom Field Approvals.

  2. Uncheck the box Show Approvals in the UI.

  3. A success notification will appear once the update is completed.

 

Step 3: Confirm That Approvals Are Disabled

  1. Once the checkbox is turned OFF:

    • The Approvals tab will not appear in the Notification Center.

    • Any previously configured Approval Conditions will not apply to this pipeline.

    • Salespeople will no longer trigger manager approval when editing fields.

 


Tips & Best Practices

  • After enabling Approvals, notify your sales team so they understand that certain edits may require manager approval.

  • Turning Approvals OFF does not delete existing rules, it simply disables them for that pipeline.
