Overview
This guide walks you through how to remove a user or group's access to a dashboard in Wingmate. Removing permissions revokes that person's ability to view or interact with the dashboard entirely, without affecting any other users' access.
What Does Removing Permissions Do?
When you remove a user or group from a dashboard's permissions, they will no longer be able to see or access that dashboard. This is different from simply unchecking a permission level โ removing a user from the list takes away all access at once.
This is useful when a team member changes roles, leaves the company, or when you need to restrict who has visibility into specific dashboard data.
Step 1: Navigate to the Dashboard Library
From the Wingmate pipeline, open the left-hand navigation and click Analytics to expand the section, then select Dashboard Library.
Step 2: Open Dashboard Permissions
In the Dashboard Library, hover over the row of the dashboard you want to manage. A Manage Permissions tooltip will appear over the shield icon in the Permissions column. Click the shield icon to open the Dashboard Permissions modal.
Step 3: Find the User or Group to Remove
The Dashboard Permissions modal shows everyone who currently has access to this dashboard. Each row displays the user or group name, their type (User or Group), and their current permission checkboxes. Use the Search bar at the top if you need to find a specific person quickly.
Step 4: Click the Trash Icon to Remove the User
On the right side of each row, you will see a trash icon (๐). Click the trash icon on the row of the user or group whose access you want to revoke. The row will be removed from the permissions table immediately.
Step 5: Save Your Changes
Once you have removed all the users or groups you need to, click the Save button at the bottom of the modal. A Save Details confirmation screen will appear, summarising the changes that are about to be applied โ including which users will be removed.
