Starling: Common Use Cases

Overview

Starling is Wingmate's AI assistant that lets you manage your pipeline through natural conversation. This article walks through the most common ways your team can use Starling day-to-day — from pulling lead lists and setting reminders to adding new leads and getting pre-meeting briefings — with example prompts you can use right away.

Pipeline Management

Use Case 1

Ask Starling to analyze your pipeline and tell you which leads to focus on. It will review what's in your pipeline and surface the ones that need attention most, though results may vary depending on the data available.

"Which leads in my pipeline should I work on?"

Use Case 2

Ask Starling to show you leads in a specific pipeline stage, and it will return a clickable list with deal values in seconds — no filters, no manual searching.

"Show me all my leads in Proposal Sent"

Use Case 3

Tell Starling which leads you need to visit and it will calculate distances and suggest an optimal visit order — as long as addresses are filled in on your lead cards.

I need to visit {{Lead A}}, {{Lead B}} and {{Lead C}}. Which should I visit first?

Logging Activity & Setting Reminders

Use Case 4

After a meeting, tell Starling what happened and it will log the activity on the lead and create a reminder for your next step — all from a single message. Starling will propose the action for your review before saving it.

"I just had a meeting with {{Lead Name}}. We sat down and discussed pricing. Set a reminder for me to send a proposal before next week."

Use Case 5

Starling can handle mass actions. Ask it to set a reminder for every lead in a given stage and it will create individual reminders for each one automatically.

"Add a reminder to follow up with each lead I have in Proposal Sent to follow up on the proposal"

Lead Research & Briefings

Use Case 6

Ask Starling to brief you on any lead, and it will pull together a comprehensive summary — the pipeline stage, contacts, past activity, open items, and anything else it knows about that account.

"Give me a rundown on {{Lead Name}}"

Use Case 7

Before heading into a meeting, ask Starling to debrief you. It will surface the current stage, contact details, your own notes and comments on the lead, company background, reminder history, and a suggested talking point — all in one response.

"Debrief me on {{Lead Name}} before my meeting"

Starling returning a full pre-meeting debrief with stage, contact, notes, company background, and talking points

Use Case 8

Starling can search online to find the LinkedIn profile for a lead — useful when you're preparing for outreach and want to know more about who you're talking to.

"Find me the LinkedIn for {{Lead Name}}"

Adding New Leads

Use Case 9

Just name a business, and Starling will search online, pull in available information, fill out custom fields it recognises, and create the lead in your pipeline. If you include a location, it will use that to narrow results.

"Add a lead for {{Business Name}} in {{City}}"

Lead confirmed as added to the pipeline with details in the Action Log

Use Case 10

Starling can research and add multiple leads in one go. Give it an industry and a location and it will find relevant businesses, skip any duplicates already in your pipeline, and share its own assessment of whether each one is a good prospect.

"Find me new {{industry}} leads in the {{city/town}} area"

Reporting & Analytics

Use Case 11

Get a quick summary of all leads marked as Closed Won during the current week — useful for end-of-week reviews or manager check-ins.

"What business did we close this week?"

Use Case 12

Ask Starling to pull a summary of the newest leads added to Wingmate during the week, so you always know what's coming into the top of your funnel.

"What new prospects did we log to Wingmate this week?"

Use Case 13

For managers, Starling can compile a report of what your team has accomplished during the day — highlighting anything of importance across the whole team's pipeline activity.

Getting Help in Wingmate

Use Case 14

Not sure how a feature works? Ask Starling. It searches Wingmate's support articles and returns a plain-English summary of what you need to know — right inside the chat, without having to leave the pipeline.

"How do I {{action you want to perform in Wingmate}}?"
