Overview
Starling is Wingmate's built-in AI assistant. It lives inside your Wingmate pipeline as a chat panel and lets you manage your entire pipeline through natural conversation. No menus to dig through, no forms to fill out manually. Just type what you need, and Starling handles it.
What is Starling?
Starling is your personal Wingmate co-pilot. Instead of clicking through menus and manually entering data, you can now talk to your pipeline the same way you'd message a colleague. Starling understands your requests in plain English, takes action on your behalf, and shows you exactly what it did in real time through the Action Log.
How to Open Starling
Starling appears as a chat panel on the bottom right side of your Wingmate pipeline. You can expand Starling to a full-screen view by clicking the expand icon in the top-right corner of the panel, giving you more space to read results and type longer requests.
The Starling panel has three key areas:
Past Conversations β on the left, a searchable history of all your previous Starling sessions so you can pick up where you left off.
Chat window β in the centre, where you type your requests and read Starling's responses.
Action Log β on the right, a live record of every action Starling has taken, such as creating a lead or setting a reminder, with a link to the related record in Wingmate.
What Can Starling Do?
Starling can handle a wide range of everyday pipeline tasks instantly β all from a single conversation.
π Pull lead listsAsk Starling to show you leads by stage, value, date, rep, or any filter β and get a clickable list in seconds. | βοΈ Update leadsChange a lead's status, add notes, or update fields just by describing what you wantβno need to open the lead card. |

Pulling a Lead List
Type something like "Show me all my leads in Proposal Sent" and Starling will instantly return a table of every matching lead with their name and deal value β clickable links that open the lead directly in Wingmate.
Setting a Reminder
Tell Starling "Set a reminder on Wingmate for 8am tomorrow" and it will propose the action for your review before creating it. Simply click Approve to confirm, and the reminder is logged in both the chat and the Action Log on the right.
Getting a Meeting Debrief
Before a meeting, ask Starling to "Debrief me on [Lead Name] before my meeting". Starling searches your pipeline and returns a full summary β the current pipeline stage, contact details, key notes from your comments, company background, reminder activity, and a recommended talking point for the meeting.
Adding a New Lead
Simply describe a business you want to add β "I saw a business called PICO β can you add it as a lead?" β and Starling will search for it, confirm what it found, and create the lead card in your pipeline automatically.
Past Conversations
Every Starling session is automatically saved and searchable. You can find past conversations in the sidebar on the left side of the expanded view β organised by the task or query you ran, so you can quickly jump back into a previous session or reference something Starling pulled up earlier.
Why Use Starling?
Starling is designed to save you time on the parts of pipeline management that slow you down β searching for leads, filling in fields, setting reminders, and prepping for calls. Because it works through conversation, it takes seconds instead of minutes, and you never have to leave the pipeline view to get things done.
